Restocking the household essentials you use most often to keep your home looking, smelling, and feeling its best can add up in a major way. If you’re doing six loads of laundry every laundry day, it will take only eight wash days to use up a 48-load bottle of detergent. And dish soap? It’s the item I most frequently need to repurchase for my kitchen.
Even if those items aren’t necessarily big-ticket purchases, buying the essentials can add up. Below, we’ve rounded up the best deals on household goods we’ve tested and evaluated (and found worthy for your home), so you can save money on the staples you use every day.

Anti-Static Spray
Static Guard Static Guard Spray
This static spray performed well in our tests and has an artificial, but quite light, scent.
Grove Co. 3-in-1 Wrinkle Release
This spray has a lovely, but unobtrusive, herbal scent and comes in a metal canister. It got rid of some static in our tests.
Dish Soap
Cleancult Dish Soap Liquid Refill
These dish soap refills come in a range of fragrances (we prefer Lemon Verbena and Wild Lavender) and clean dishes without leaving behind any scent. They are suitably sudsy, so you don’t have to use another squirt of it for each dish.
Flushable Wipes
Amazon Basics Adult Wet Wipes
These wipes are super-strong and clean well, too. Flushability was decent, though we don’t recommend actually flushing them.
Hand Soap
Cleancult Liquid Hand Soap Refill
We love Cleancult’s hand soaps, which are silky and non-drying, and smell delicious. Plus, the refill cartons are easy to use and don’t spill.
Laundry Detergent Sheets
Cleancult Laundry Detergent Sheets
If you’re looking to lightly scent your laundry, Cleancult’s delicate laundry detergent sheets are a good option. They leave behind only the most subtle fragrance and seem to clean well enough (though we tested these sheets at home, not in the lab). They’re super-easy and mess-free to use.
Multipurpose Cleaners
Presto! All Purpose Cleaner, Lavender Scent
This Amazon-brand cleaning spray cleans kitchen surfaces beautifully. It left soapy residue on stainless steel, though, and wasn’t great at removing lipstick from a mirror.
Quart Bags
GreeneWrap Compostable Zip Quart Bags
These luxurious (yes! luxurious!) compostable quart bags aced our leak test. They’re easy to open and close, and they’re printed with a calendar for easy labeling.
Amazon Basics Slider Quart Food Storage Bags
Amazon’s budget-friendly quart bags are strong and easy to use: Our 6-year-old evaluator called opening and closing them “easy-peasy.”
Toilet Paper
Quilted Northern Ultra Plush Toilet Paper
This toilet paper is the strongest that we tested and is soft, to boot. It’s linty, though, and it takes a long time to dissolve, so it isn’t recommended for sensitive plumbing systems.
Angel Soft Toilet Paper
Sensitive butts will appreciate Angel Soft’s truly celestial softness. Plus, it’s budget-friendly even when it isn’t on sale. The downside to that ultra-softness? It’s not especially strong, and it’s not easy to start a new roll because of an excessive amount of glue.
Charmin Ultra Soft Toilet Paper
This is the softest, most velvety toilet paper we tested. It’s strong, as well. It is quite linty, though, and takes a while to dissolve—making it not a good pick for sensitive plumbing.
