Ford Maverick Recalled Because the Backup Camera Display Can Freeze
A free software update is expected to correct this problem
Certain 2022–2024 Ford Maverick pickup trucks with the base stereo, known as “Connected Touch Radio,” are recalled because the video feed from the backup camera may freeze. Both a safety and convenience feature, the backup camera is standard on all new vehicles, and it activates automatically when the transmission is in Reverse.
Maverick Recall Details
Vehicles recalled: 2022–2024 Ford Maverick pickup trucks with the Connected Touch Radio
The problem: A software problem can cause the video feed from the backup camera to freeze, preventing the driver from seeing behind the truck and negating this important safety feature.
The fix: Dealers will update the Connected Touch Radio (CTR) software, free of charge.
