Sound quality: We found the Buds Pro delivers sound quality that falls in the very good range - it reproduces music and voice very well although it does have some noticeable sonic quirks and excellent active noise reduction. With the noise cancelling mode engaged and set at the max noise cancelation setting using the Hey Melody app bass (as in bass drums, bass guitars, stand-up bass, etc.) has good impact and fairly deep, but is a bit prominent and somewhat boomy. The midrange (voices, guitars, horns, etc.) is a touch thin, somewhat grainy, and a bit etched and sibilant. The treble (cymbals, the upper range of violins, etc.) is fairly extended, but is somewhat prominent and sizzly, and a bit smeared and harsh. Somewhat open sounding and does a decent job of recovering room ambience. Good dynamics. Mixed character - warmish bass with neutral midrange and coolish treble. The overall sound can be summarized as bassy, grainy, and etched. A faint rushing sound can be heard in quiet environments when there is no audio program to drown it out. Noise Canceling: Excellent noise reduction across the entire frequency range with the low frequencies reduced the most. A faint rushing sound can be heard in quiet environments when there is no audio program to drown it out.
Comfort: We found that these earphones as typical of in-ear models they produce a sense of pressure in the ear canal opening might be uncomfortable for some. Users with small to large sized ear bowls will probably find that this model stays in place with no problems for casual use and that they are stable even during vigorous head movement. Hitting the stem that hangs out of the ear can knock an earphone lose and cause it to fall out of the ear.
