Sound quality: Onn's Large Party Speaker Gen 2 had satisfactory overall sound quality - this model reproduces music and dialog reasonably well despite the obvious shortcomings in its sound. When positioned horizontally (to provide accurate left and right channel orientation) with bass boost set to off to provide the most even tonal balance the bass has good impact and goes deep, but depending on the program material is a bit to somewhat boomy and can be somewhat prominent. Midrange is somewhat hazy, a bit grainy, and the lower midrange is a bit subdued. Treble is fairly extended but is somewhat prominent and a bit smeared and sizzly. Does so-so job of recovering the actual room ambience from the recording, and the overall sound is a bit constricted and somewhat congested. There was no significant difference in sound quality between vertical and horizontal orientation other than the orientation of the left and right channel information produced. When two units are used as a stereo pair the sound stage can be made wider depending on placement. There was no significant difference between Bluetooth and wired sound quality. Provides a decent volume level in a large sized room.
