Sound quality: LG's XBOOM XL7 had middling/satisfactory overall sound quality - this model reproduces music and dialog reasonably well despite the obvious shortcomings in its sound. With the LG Xboom app EQ setting set for the most even tonal balance, the bass has good impact, and goes fairly deep, but is somewhat prominent and tubby. Midrange is fairly even, but is somewhat hazy, and plasticky, a bit grainy, and depending on the program material can be somewhat overwhelmed by the bass. Treble is fairly extended but is somewhat smeared and sizzly and a bit dry. Does a decent job of recovering the actual room ambience from the recording but the tubby quality of the bass adds an artificial sense of room ambience, and the overall sound is somewhat congested. There was no significant difference between Bluetooth and USB sound quality. It provides a substantial volume level in a large sized room.

Can connect to another LG XBOOM XL7 unit to play stereo sound in Wireless Party Link Dual mode. Can connect to multiple compatible LG Bluetooth speaker for sound reinforcement in Wireless Party Link Multi mode. Supports USB host mode playback of WMA and MP3 files from USB flash drive. LG XBoom app available for Android 5.0 or later and iOS 10 or later can be used to update firmware, change EQ settings, switch inputs, change light modes, enable pre-installed LED banner images, create new LED banner images, turn on sleep timer, enable DJ effects, record samples, enable Karaoke mode, and toggle the auto power management.
