Sound quality: JBL's Partybox 110 had Good overall sound quality - this model reproduces music and dialog reasonably well despite the obvious shortcomings in its sound. Bass has good impact and goes fairly deep but is a bit prominent and boomy. Midrange is fairly even but is somewhat grainy, a bit hazy, and a touch plasticky. Treble is fairly extended but is a bit smeared and a touch sizzly. Does a decent job of recovering room ambience. Sounds somewhat congested. The stereo separation of the speaker improves when the speaker is positioned horizontally. No significant difference between Bluetooth, aux and USB sound quality. Provides a decent volume level in a large sized room. When two units are used as a stereo pair the overall sound can be made louder, and depending on placement the sound stage can be made wider.

Manufacturer claims the unit is IPX4 water resistant. Two PartyBox 110 speakers can be wirelessly stereo paired via Bluetooth or via mini audio cable. USB charging port also used for USB Audio Host mode operation. Input jacks for optional cord connected mic and guitar use have gain adjustments. Has customizable lights with different lighting modes and patterns. Has pole mount fitting; can be mounted vertically on an optional pole stand. Free JBL PartyBox app download for Apple and Android mobile devices can be used to as a remote control to check battery status, update unit firmware, adjust EQ, enable Bassboost mode, change lighting settings, access DJ and Karaoke effects, set up stereo or party mode pairing of two Boombox 2 speakers, and as a remote control to play/pause, skip to next or previous track, and adjust volume of Bluetooth and USB Host mode sources. Unit firmware version 1.34.0, Apple app version 3.3.9, Android app version 3.3.10.
