Sound quality: Ion-Audio's Game Day Primetime had middling/satisfactory overall sound quality - this model reproduces music and dialog reasonably well despite the obvious shortcomings in its sound. With the tone controls of the Ion Sound Control app set for the most even tonal balance, the bass has decent impact, but the mid bass is somewhat boomy, while the upper bass is somewhat subdued, and the deep bass is lacking. Midrange is somewhat grainy and a bit hazy, nasal, plasticky, and telephone-like. Treble lacks extension, is somewhat smeared and papery, and the upper treble is muted. Does a so-so job of recovering room ambience and sounds somewhat congested. The speaker is monophonic. When two units are used as a stereo pair the sound stage can be made wider depending on placement. There was no significant difference between Bluetooth, USB, and wired sound quality. Provides a decent volume level in a large sized room.
