Sound quality: Bose's Soundlink Flex had Good overall sound quality - this model reproduces music and dialog reasonably well despite the obvious shortcomings in its sound. Bass has good impact and goes fairly deep, but is slightly prominent and boomy. Midrange is fairly even, but is somewhat grainy. Treble is fairly extended, but is a bit prominent and smeared. Does a decent job of recovering room ambience and is a bit congested. Speaker is monophonic. When two units are combined to form a stereo pair, its sound stage can be made wider depending on placement. Provides a decent volume level in a medium sized room.

Claims IP67 (dust resistant and water submersible). Supports Siri and Google digital voice assistants when used with Bluetooth devices that have that feature. Two speakers can be paired to achieve left/right Stereo Pairing or Party Mode (multi-unit simultaneous playback). Free Bose Connect app download for Apple and Android mobile devices can be used to setup Bluetooth connections, check product information and battery status, update unit firmware, enable stereo pair and party mode, control volume and play/pause, next/prev track, user manual, enable voice prompts, and adjust auto off timer. Has Bose Simplesync feature - can connect to a Bose Simplesync compatible smart speaker or soundbar via a Bluetooth connection using the Bose Music app to listen to the same content as being played on the smart speaker or soundbar at a range of up to 30 ft.
