Sound quality:We found the EAH-AZ100 TWS delivers sound quality that falls in the very good range - it reproduces music and voice very well although it does have some noticeable sonic quirks and excellent active noise reduction. With the noise canceling mode engaged and set to maximum and the Technics Audio Connect app sound mode set to Direct mode (as received state of the earphone) the bass (as in bass drums, bass guitars, stand-up bass, etc.) has good impact and goes deep, but can range from prominent to somewhat prominent and boomy. The midrange (voices, guitars, horns, etc.) is even, but is a bit grainy and hazy and congested (think sonic traffic jam) and a touch sibilant and can get overwhelmed by the bass. The treble (cymbals, the upper range of violins, etc.) is extended, but is a bit smeared, sizzly (sounds that should have a delicate shimmer have a sound reminiscent of bacon frying), and the mid- to upper treble is a bit prominent. The sound also has a good sense of liveliness and is somewhat open--sound-wise it almost seems like you don't have anything plugging up your ears and does a good job of recovering room ambience. Mixed character, warm bass, warmish midrange and cool treble. The overall sound can best be summarized as noticeably bassy and a bit grainy and hazy. The tone settings of the app do have a noticeable effect on the sound of these earphones.
Noise Canceling:
Excellent noise reduction across the entire frequency range with the low frequencies reduced the most. Orientation changes the noise reduction characteristic - when the noise is coming from the front a bit more high-frequency noise can be heard. A very faint rushing sound can be heard in quiet environments when there is no audio program to drown it out.
Comfort and Fit:This ear bud design - the earpieces seal the ear canals and they are supported by ear bowls like a ear bud model and the ear canals.
Small
Users with small ear bowls might find that the earphone body feels a bulky in their ear bowl and that they stick out too far and feel like they may lever out of place and are mostly held in place by the section of the earphone that is inserted in the ear canal and ear insert, but that they will generally stay in place during casual use and are fairly stable even with vigorous head movement.
Users with smaller sized ear canals may find that the smallest ear pieces are too large.
Medium
Users with medium ear bowls will probably find that they stay in place with no problem, and that the ear bowl supports make the ear pieces very stable even with vigorous head movement.
Large
Users with large ear bowls will probably find that they stay in place with no problem, and that the ear bowl supports make the ear pieces very stable even with vigorous head movement.
