Design and features:This model has touch controls for music player transport, call connect/disconnect, ambient noise/noise cancellation, and digital assistant. These earphones pause audio when removed from ears and resume audio when they are placed back in ears. They support Apple Siri and Google digital voice assistants when used with Bluetooth devices that have those features. The charging/carrying case has a built-in rechargeable battery that the manufacturer claims can be used to recharge the earphone batteries for an additional 18 hrs. of listening time for a total of 24 hrs. and can be recharged via USB cable or with optional wireless charging accessories.
Sound quality:We found the Wireless Earphones with Active Noise Cancellation delivers excellent active noise reduction and sound quality that falls in the acceptable range - it reproduces music and voice reasonably well despite the obvious shortcomings in its sound. The overall sound can be summarized as somewhat hazy and a bit grainy with prominent, muddy bass. With the noise cancelling mode engaged the bass (as in bass drums, bass guitars, stand-up bass, etc.) goes deep, but is prominent, muddy, and can have excessive impact. The midrange (voices, guitars, horns, etc.) is fairly even, but is somewhat hazy, a bit grainy and congested (think sonic traffic jam), and is somewhat overwhelmed by the bass. The treble (cymbals, the upper range of violins, etc.) is fairly extended, but is a bit sizzly (sounds that should have a delicate shimmer have a sound reminiscent of bacon frying), and somewhat smeared. While the sound has a decent sense of liveliness and this model does a decent job of recovering the room ambience of recordings, it sounds somewhat closed (sound-wise it's fairly obvious you have something plugging your ears). This model provides excellent noise reduction across the entire frequency range with the low frequencies reduced the most. A very faint rushing sound can be heard in quiet environments when there is no audio program to drown it out.
Comfort and Fit:As typical of in-ear models they produce a sense of pressure in the ear canal opening that might be uncomfortable for some.
Small
Users with small ear bowls might find that the earphone body feels a bulky in their ear bowl, but that they will stay in place during casual use and are very stable even with vigorous head movement.
Medium
Users with medium and large sized ear bowls will probably find that this model stays in place with no problems for casual use and that they are very stable even during vigorous head movement.
Incidental contact with the touch controls can cause unintentional playing, pausing, and digital voice assistant activation.
