Overall this model was very easy to use, somewhat accurate for counting steps, and good at measuring heart-rate accuracy. With recent version iPhones, our experts found it very easy to pair, very easy to interact with, and likewise for recent version Android phones, very easy to pair, very easy to attach to the body, and very easy to recharge the battery. In our water immersion test it passed the manufacturer's claim of 164 feet for 10 minutes.

The Fitbit Charge 5 is a band based fitness tracker with a 1.2 inch color touchscreen display, real-time heart rate monitor, steps, sleep tracking, and calories estimation. It has standalone GPS, display has a backlight for use at night and claims a battery life of 7 days. It has the following sensors: optical heart rate monitor, 3-axis accelerometer, red and infrared sensors for oxygen saturation (SpO2) monitoring, temperature sensor (skin temperature variation available in the Fitbit app), ambient light sensor, and multipurpose electrical sensors compatible with ECG app and EDA Scan app. It has notifications for calls, texts, social media, calendar events and Fitbit community socialization. It includes inactivity alerts which remind you to move if you are sitting for a long time. The Charge 5 has extra features such as: stress management that monitors how your body is managing stress, measures breathing rate while sleeping, menstrual health tracking, Fitbit ECG app, EDA Scan app, SPO2 monitoring, skin temperature tracking, and offers a paid subscription to Fitbit Premium which offers extra personalized workouts and insights. Included accessories: wristbands (two size options included), USB charging cable, quick start guide, and a 6 month trial of Fitbit Premium. Its dimensions are 0.9 x 0.5 inches (width/thickness) and it weighs 1 ounces.
