Detailed Test Results

This two-line phone can work during household AC power loss with its base corded phone. It has excellent voice quality when talking, very good when listening. Very good ease of use for both phone and answerer. Very good message quality and adequate 16-minute message recording time.

The phone features a lighted keypad (essential if using the phone in a dark room), any-key answer, voice-mail indicator, chain dialing (helpful if you frequently use calling cards), and multilingual menus. Can conference handset to handset (no need to yell from room to room), as well as with an outside line. Answerer has an audible new message alert and you can record answerer greeting using handset. To save energy and extend battery life, the phone automatically reduces radio power when its base is nearby. It's Energy Star compliant.

On the downside, this phone lacks auto talk and a headset jack, which is a useful feature for hands-free operation. Answerer lacks announce-only mode.
