This phone can work during household AC power loss, using stored power from the handset's battery to operate. It has very good voice quality when talking and listening. We found this phone's ease of use to be Good. It has very good message quality and very good answerer ease of use. It also has an adequate 17-minute message recording time and can conference handset to handset, like an intercom.
Phone features include side volume control, a lighted keypad, which is essential if using the phone in a dark room, talking caller ID, auto talk (allowing you to answer a call by simply lifting the phone out of the base), any-key answer and voice-mail indicator. To save energy and extend battery life, the phone automatically reduces radio power when its base is nearby.It also has chain dialing (helpful if you frequently use calling cards), multilingual menus, and is conferencing capable with an outside line. It's Energy Star compliant. Additionally, the answerer has an audible new message alert and can record the answerer greeting using handset.
On the downside, the answerer setup is overly complicated and it is easy to accidentally erase unplayed messages.
