This phone can work during household AC power loss. It has excellent voice quality when talking and listening. We found its ease of use to be very good. Its range is longer than most. The answerer has very good message quality, an adequate 17-minute message recording time, and very good answerer ease of use. Can conference handset to handset, as well as with an outside line.
Phone features include call blocking for nuisance callers, side volume control for handset earpiece, lighted keypad, which is essential if using the phone in a dark room, talking caller ID, auto talk (allowing you to answer a call by simply lifting the phone out of the base), any-key answer, voice-mail indicator, chain dialing, helpful if you frequently use calling cards, and multilingual menus. To save energy and extend battery life, the phone automatically reduces radio power when its base is nearby. It's Energy Star compliant. Answerer has an audible new message alert, and you can record answerer greeting using handset.
On the downside, answerer message had noticeable background noise. Answerer lacks announce-only mode and it is easy to accidentally erase unplayed messages.
