Detailed Test Results

PICTURE QUALITY. This model, like all of the other models in our Ratings, had excellent high-definition picture quality when playing Blu-ray discs. It did very well with standard DVDs, displaying the best detail possible.
EASE OF USE. However, we noted that the console lacks all transport controls and navigation except for EJECT. The remote was fairly easy to use. Its fits well in the hand and Very small fit in hand and light. The onscreen menu was highly intuitive and easy to use.
SPEED. With its quick-start feature enabled, the startup time became 10 seconds. It had a Blu-ray load time typical of many models, around 20 seconds. The DVD load time was typical of many models -- 15 seconds. The eject time was 5 seconds, typical of most models.
INTERNET FEATURES.
CONTROLS AND CONNECTIVITY. The player is DLNA certified, so you can access digital photos, videos, and music stored on a PC, phone, tablet, or other device connected to your home network.
