    Laptops

Are you looking to buy a top-of-the-line MacBook but don’t need every bell and whistle that comes with a Pro model? The M3 Air delivers excellent performance and strong energy efficiency, lasting 14 hours in our battery tests while weighing just 2.7 pounds.

This discount has been available since late 2024. But there’s a chance that it may not last as tariffs begin to take effect in the coming months.

The 14-inch HP OmniBook Ultra Flip is a smart pick, especially for digital artists who like the idea of a convertible laptop that effectively doubles as a tablet. It includes a responsive touchscreen and stylus, making it a strong option for drawing, sketching, and note-taking on the go. At only 2.9 pounds, it’s also one of the more portable picks for content creators without sacrificing creative performance.

LG’s Gram line of notebooks has consistently scored among the top laptops in our labs since it debuted nearly a decade ago. The 16-inch Gram Pro offers very fast performance and a 17-plus-hour battery life. Of course, given that it’s called the Gram, you’d be correct in assuming it’s quite lightweight as well.

Attention, travelers: If you’re looking for a lightweight option, this model is one of our favorites for travel—and the price has dropped over $100 in the last month. MSI’s 13-inch Prestige weighs a scant 2.1 pounds, earning top marks in our ratings for portability, while still delivering solid performance and 15-hour battery life.

    Chromebooks

This Chromebook scores well across the key metrics, from performance to battery life, not quite 14 hours, which is more than enough for a full day’s work. It may not have a touchscreen like the other models that rank among the best Chromebooks CR has tested, but it’s a bit less expensive as a result.

This model is a great option if you want a large-screen device on the less expensive side. It has a 16-inch display and a big, comfortable keyboard, complete with RGB lighting that makes typing in the dark easier and more colorful. The display supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, which can make games appear silky smooth in motion.

    Desktops

The Apple iMac is one of the best-known all-in-one desktop computers, so it’s no surprise that this latest model, featuring the company’s new M3 processor, is among the most capable you can buy.  In addition to the M3, it has 8GB of memory and 256GB of solid-state storage. The 24-inch built-in display aces our tests, with our testers noting that it’s able to produce bright and accurate colors. The display also has a special coating to help reduce glare, which is especially helpful, for example, when you’re working in a home office with nearby windows that let sunlight into the room.

This iMac supports WiFi 6, includes a wireless mouse and keyboard, and has several different ports for connecting external peripherals like printers and thumb drives.

Apple recently unveiled a Mac Mini with an M4 processor, but this M2 model delivers admirable power and performance, especially for this price. It features 8 gigabytes of memory and 256GB of solid state storage and remains the least expensive way to buy a Mac, assuming you already have a mouse, a keyboard, and an external monitor.

    Tablets

Apple’s entry-level iPad is $8 less than the lowest price we’ve seen until now. It still provides the most bang for your buck, especially when you factor in the number of high-quality apps and services available for the iPad operating system. The model has a 10.9-inch display and 64 gigabytes of storage, and it records HD video. In our testing, the device delivers enough battery life for a cross-country flight or a day on the go.

    Printers

The Canon Color imageClass MF656Cdw sits near the top of our ratings for color printers. It’s relatively inexpensive for a color laser model, and the estimated toner cost of $46 is low for the category. Color laser printers are built with graphics professionals or maybe small businesses in mind; they’re expensive to buy and the toner isn’t cheap, at around $75 annually. But there’s a reason some people buy and love models like this. When it comes to graphics, they blow away both inkjets and black-and-white lasers with sharp, accurately saturated images. The text performance is stellar as well, though they do fall short when it comes to printing photos. Keep in mind that it’s quite large for a home printer.

    Wireless Routers

If you don’t need (or want) a multirouter mesh setup, this single-unit WiFi 6 model from Netgear should be near the top of your list—especially since the price has dropped significantly from when it was around $250 last month. It aced our throughput tests at all distances and was easy to set up via a smartphone app or an old-school, web-based wizard.
