Kia Carnival Hybrid

The Carnival minivan is refreshed for 2025, with a new infotainment system and an optional hybrid version. The hybrid combines a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and electric drive to produce 242 hp, paired with a six-speed automatic. This resulted in 31 mpg overall in our testing compared to 21 mpg with the regular V6 Carnival. A long 600-mile cruising range is an extra bonus. The powertrain is responsive and can propel the van on electric power alone in urban and suburban settings up to about 35 mph with a light throttle foot. The ride is firm and composed, and handling is sound but unexceptional.
