Ford Explorer SUVs Recalled for Door Trim That Could Fall Off
If the trim falls off, the debris could cause a crash or injuries
Ford is recalling nearly half a million 2016–2017 Explorer SUVs to fix their door trim. Due to design and manufacturing errors, the trim located on the pillar behind the front doors might detach from the vehicle while in motion and could cause a hazard for others on the road.

Vehicles recalled: Ford Explorer SUVs manufactured between June 11, 2015 and April 19, 2017
The problem: Due to design and manufacturing errors, the trim on the pillar behind the front driver and passenger doors—known as the B-pillar—might detach from the vehicle while driving and cause a hazard for others on the road.
The fix: Ford says it is still working on a fix and will alert owners via a second letter when a repair is available.
