Valspar Optimus (Ace)

The Valspar Optimus (Ace) is part of the Paints test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, Interior paints models like the Optimus (Ace) are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Hiding: How well paint covers dark colors in one coat. A higher score means better coverage with a single application.

Staining: How well paint resists oil- and water-based stains. A higher score means there is no residue remains after cleaning.

Scrubbing: Scrubbing shows how a paint holds up to many abrasive cleanings.
