Sound quality: Ultimate Ears's Miniroll had acceptable overall sound quality - this model reproduces music and dialog reasonably well despite the obvious shortcomings in its sound. Bass has so-so impact, is a somewhat subdued and is a bit boomy, and doesn't go deep. Midrange is a bit thin and plasticky, somewhat grainy, a bit hazy and sibilant. Treble is extended, but somewhat prominent and sizzly and smeared and is dry and papery. Although the overall sound is somewhat congested it does a so-so job of recovering room ambience and is a bit congested. The speaker is monophonic. Two or more units can be combined for Party Mode. Provides a decent volume level in medium sized room. The Outdoor Blast and Podcast sound mode has a noticeable effect on the sound.
