Sound quality: Onn's Medium Party Speaker Gen 2 had middling overall sound quality - this model reproduces music and dialog reasonably well despite the obvious shortcomings in its sound. When positioned vertically with bass boost set to off to provide the most even tonal balance the bass has good impact and goes fairly deep, but is a bit subdued. Midrange is somewhat grainy, and a bit plasticky, constricted, and harsh, and the mid-midrange is somewhat prominent. Treble is extended but the mid treble is a bit subdued, while the upper treble is a bit prominent and sizzly. Does a so-so job of recovering room ambience and is somewhat congested and a bit constricted. There was no significant difference in sound quality between vertical and horizontal orientation. There was no significant difference between Bluetooth and wired sound quality. Although it can provide a decent volume level in a large sized room it is better suited for medium sized spaces since it gets harsher and more congested at higher volume levels.
