Sound quality: Bowers & Wilkins's Formation Wedge had Very Good overall sound quality - although it has some noticeable sonic quirks, this model reproduces music and dialog very well. Bass has good impact and goes deep, but is a bit prominent and tubby. Midrange is even, but is somewhat grainy. Treble is extended, but is a bit smeared. Does a decent job of recovering room ambience and is a bit congested. There is no significant difference between WiFi and Bluetooth sound quality. Provides adequate listening volume for a medium to large sized room.
Ease of use: We found the Bowers & Wilkins Formation Wedge ease of use to be Very Good overall. WiFi setup: Requires following quick setup guide to connect the unit and install app on mobile device then follow app instructions - good overall. Does not require exiting the app to select wifi network or entering a password. For iOS devices, general WiFi setup also sets up Airplay 2. DLNA: Requires optional app with paid subscription. Bluetooth pairing requires making connection to WiFi first, then using a well marked switch in the settings menu of the Bowers & Wilkens Music app, then discover with your device. There is an indication when unit is in pairing mode and when it has paired. The volume controls are proximity sensitive illuminated high contrast touch controls (+/-), lacks index markings for volume levels, does not have an indication when max volume is reached. Source selections: Requires app to be installed, app installation is straight forward. Once app is installed switching between sources within the app is fairly intuitive. Switching to Airplay 2 and Bluetooth sources requires leaving the app.
