Sound quality: Altec Lansing's Mini LifeJacket Jolt had Fair overall sound quality. Bass has very little impact and mid and lower bass is lacking. Midrange is gritty, dry, and somewhat thin and hazy. Treble is fairly extended, but somewhat smeared and dry, depending on the program material it may sound a bit subdued. Does a so-so job of recovering room ambience and is congested. The two channel sound field extends a bit beyond but not much above the enclosure and lacks depth. Bluetooth and wired sound quality are similar. Provides a decent volume level in a small sized room and is best suited for near field listening.

Dust resistant and water submersable (IP67). Manufacturer claims speaker floats. Supports digital voice assistants when used with Bluetooth devices that have that feature. Has LED Lighting effects with 5 lighting modes. Has House Party feature that allows you to connect up to 50 Altec Lansing House Party enabled devices at the same time. Has free downloadable "Altec Lansing Just Listen" app that offers product information and support. App claims that the speaker requires an 8 hour break in period and offers a "burn in" file of pink noise playable using app to play at a volume of medium (no higher than 50%).
