Performance: Overall this desktop's performance was poor, well below that of many other models and you may notice slowdowns in such things as boot-up, application launching, and video editing. Compared to other tested desktops, performance was okay for common tasks such as web browsing or video conferencing, but may be very slow for more demanding tasks. You would notice this most particularly when opening up applications or during group video conferences. Performance was okay for light productivity but for some more demanding tasks may be very slow, particularly when calculating large data spreadsheets or using images in multiple documents, and it was so slow that it was difficult to manipulate images, edit videos, and calculate simulations. Graphical tasks run slower among other models with only integrated graphics.
Ergonomics: The desktop is bundled with a keyboard and mouse. Keyboard letters were low contrast and difficult to read, but its keys were comfortably sized. Keyboard features such as volume control keys add convenience. The keys on the keyboard are slightly concave, making it more comfortable to type on. The corded mouse has a scroll wheel. You can't easily replace the storage drive. The power button is not in a convenient location, and is either hard to access, or easy to press accidentally. The case has no LED indicator for storage drive activity.
Display: The display quality was very good overall. Colors were accurately reproduced, realistic, and natural looking. The desktop's display was dimmer than most but it's anti-reflective, so it's a somewhat better choice for viewing in a well lit room. It has HDR settings that can show fine detail and is helpful for use in dark rooms. The display has a narrow viewing angle, so you’ll have limited flexibility in how to position the screen for optimal viewability for one user, and it will be difficult for more than one person to look at the screen at the same time. Its display produces a wider array of colors and has better contrast than on most other tested all-in-ones, which can help add realism to videos or slideshows.
Useful features and attributes on this model include: You can connect common external devices such as backup drives and Blu-ray burners using USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps). Video outputs include: an HDMI full-size port supporting HDMI 1.4; these are useful for connecting to an TV or separate monitor.
Downsides: There is no memory-card reader, so you'll need to buy an external reader or connect your digital camera directly to this desktop to transfer photos. This desktop has fewer USB ports than others. There's no optical drive like a CD or DVD reader, so you'll have to buy an external drive if you need one.
