"The keyless entry quit working. the dealer told me that the receiver module inside the truck had failed and the cost to replace the module would be $920, but they did not have the part. A month or two later I had to replace the truck battery. After I replaced the battery, the keyless entry began to work again and has continued working ever since. Apparently, the receiving unit just needed to be restarted to begin working again. Really glad I didn't spend the $920."

Toyota's design is such is a prone to "rust" and cause the truck to reduce acceleration (limp mode). Replacement parts have the same rust issues and will also fail after several years. It is a major cost to have fixed and would steer me away from this vehicle."

"It failed, rusted out and had to be totally replaced. Overall, the corrosion and rust of this truck has been problematic. In contrast, my 2007 Highlander has not experienced the same issues while both are subjected to the same environment."
