The Scion xA has many of the shortcomings of its cousin, the Scion xB, except it doesn't compensate for them with a roomy interior. Nor does the xA come with standard electronic stability control, except in relatively rare limited edition packages. Acceleration is unexceptional with both the manual and automatic transmissions -- and the engine is buzzy. The stiff, choppy ride is very uncomfortable. On the other hand, the versatility of the rear hatchback and fold-down seats offsets the very small cargo compartment.
