GMC Sierra 1500

This full-sized pickup truck is the Chevrolet Silverado's twin. The Sierra retains the previous model's selectable, full-time, four-wheel-drive system and a generous load capacity. Electronic stability control is standard in the crew-cab model but optional in the extended cab. The new truck has more responsive handling and a steadier ride, but the 5.3-liter V8 isn't very refined. The interior has been significantly improved, with better fit and finish, and the Denali is a luxurious version that can be had with permanent AWD. A six-speed automatic and 6.2-liter V8 are new for 2009, as is the Sierra hybrid version.
