The redesigned Q5 luxury compact SUV has evolved and is more refined and high tech than before.
The standard 268-hp, 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder packs a healthy midrange punch and sounds polished.
The 7-speed dual-clutch automatic shifts quickly and directly when driven with gusto but at low speeds it tends to have either an initial hesitation or some abrupt take-offs.
The uplevel SQ5 version has a more muscular 362-hp, 3.0-liter turbo V6.
Handling is taut and agile, making the Q5 one of the sportiest in its class.
The ride has an underlying firmness but it is steady and tied-down absorbs bumps decently.
The snazzy interior is nicely furnished and has a customizable display in front of the driver that blends into the center infotainment touchscreen.
An optional screen is available for the front passenger.
The cabin is very quiet and the seats are very comfortable and supportive.
The outgoing model was on sale as a 2025 model as well.
